Well for the girls he will have to draw more curves, so that can come when he has looked more closely at the 'curves' ;-)( in another couple of years)

Thanks Jill:-) His Dad is quite a talented artist mainly in the graphic arts field. He used to work for Disney studios & he now freelances & gets lot's of work. He does a draft in pencil to show the client his ideas for the brief & if he gets the OK he does all the art work on the computer. Alexander now draws every day but he's no good at drawing girls yet:-)

Now I think Alexander has a look as though he is really in command of everybody...'do not mess with me look!'. His perky nose and general demeanour are delightful..great capture Rod.

Terrific looking picy Rod! The toning and grain make this look like an image from an earlier time. Well done!

This is really something, and the face on that boy a classic.

Great candid, Rod! Beautiful toning as well, and just a prefect moment in time.

I'm glad Jerry linked to the Bresson shot cuase this really does have an amazing amount of similarity. Interesting little bloke though I first thought from looking at the thumb image that "pick" might have been a more appropriate title ;-) This really does seem like a vintage duotone- very well done mate.

Thanks Daniel, Ernest, Jerry & Tommy:-) I think you can give the credit to the image stabiliser in the lens Tommy. I didn't add any grain to this but after doing the duotone thingy I used one of the Topaz adjust filters to turn it into ahrt & it brought out lots of grain. Maybe I will become an ahrtiiiist & use this filter more often:-) I followed this kid around for a little while & made the mistake of framing too tightly as he would make sudden movements into playful poses but for only a few seconds. I caught him unawares this time. The bit of a halo/glow around his back must be from the PPing unless he's the next prophet:-)

Good one Rod. The tinting and grain gives it a timeless feel. Your hand is steadier than mine these days.

Jerry, as always you are correct LOL. One of my favorite shots but at 6am this morning before I dashed to the office, my brain failed me LOL. It was the shape of the little boys head & his eyes that did it for me.

You've realy captured a moment here, Rod! Very nice toning.

I think Ernest might be thnkng of Henri Cartier-Bresson's famous shot here: [link]

Great entry Rod. Contrast, grain treatment and tonality are perfect here. The halo in the kidīs back is a bit visible, but not too much distracting. Daniel.

But but but is it an itch or is it a scratch?
I really think this is quite excellent. You are back and in good form, evidently.

This is a winner. Not only in the Duo conversion, but as a shot. Reminds me of the famous shot of a little boy carrying a bottle of wine (senior citizen moment, the name is out of my brain), I am sure JP will know the photographer.

Great captured moment.

Wow, Rod, this is great. Sharp and grainy, love the expression. Think you nailed the topic with this one.
